Some Client Comments:
Thanks for the slides you did. I've had a great two weeks photoshopping memories of trips and the kids. I'd had a few slides digitised before and have been a little disappointed, but yours have been exceptional.
Brian, Hawkes Bay

Photofresh provided an excellent service. My colour slides were 50 years old and needed quite a bit of work. The scanned images produced were very good and I, and my sisters, are truly grateful.
Elisabeth, Auckland

Just want to let you know that I'm very happy with how the slides have come up - very clear. Thank you for a really good job well done for me.
Joy, Auckland

The Process - How It Works

Slide, Negative and Photo Scanning

The ordering and scanning process is simple – here’s how it works:

  • Download and print out the order form (PDF format)
  • Fill in the order form with your details and the number of slides, negatives or photos you wish to be scanned. Include also the details of the services you require, including the required scanning resolution
  • Include the completed order form with your slides, negatives and photos and send by post or courier to our mailing address (if you are based in or near Christchurch, you are welcome to drop off your order at our premises)
  • Note: see below for some useful tips on preparing and packing your slides, negatives and photos
  • As these are your precious memories, we recommend that you use a courier bag with tracking to send your images to us to minimise any risk of loss in transit. Please note that Photofresh cannot be responsible for any items that may be lost during shipping
  • We will notify you by email once we receive your order and provide you with an indicative delivery time. Depending on our current workloads, we normally work to a 2-3 week turnaround, and depending on the size of the scanning job. If you have a particular deadline, please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate your schedule
  • We’ll then scan your images and advise you when we’re ready to ship them back to you
  • On completion and receipt/processing of payment, we’ll ship your original items back to you along with the scanned digital images on your choice of media (CD/DVD or USB) using tracked courier or parcelpost

Photo Restorations

Here’s the process for ordering your photo restoration:

  • Download and printout the photo restoration order form (PDF format)
  • Fill in the form with your details and the restoration services you require
  • Include the completed restoration order form with your photo/s and send by post or courier to our mailing address (if you are based in or near Christchurch, you are welcome to drop these off at our premises)
  • Note: see below for some useful tips on preparing and packing your photos
  • As these are your precious memories, we recommend that you use a courier bag with tracking to send your images to us to minimise any risk of loss in transit. Please note that Photofresh cannot be responsible for any items that may be lost during shipping
  • We will notify you by email once we receive your shipment and will provide you with a price estimate based on the restoration work required
  • Once you've confirmed, we’ll then scan your photo/s and undertake the restoration work required and advise you when we’ve completed the job
  • Once payment has been received, we’ll ship your original photo/s back to you along with the restoration as digital image file/s on a CD and an A4 size glossy photo print/s using tracked courier or parcelpost

Payment Methods

We accept payment via cash or bank transfer/direct credit. Payment details are included with our order form.

Useful Tips for Preparing and Packing Your Slides, Negatives and Photos

Preparation Tips

  • Whilst we use dust and scratch removal technology during the scanning process, the cleaner the slides and negatives are, the better the resultant scans will be
  • We recommend using a soft brush or airbrush to remove loose dirt or dust from the film surface before despatch. Apply light and gentle strokes and be careful not to scratch the surface
  • It would also be helpful to group and order your slides, negatives and photos into your desired groupings as this will be the order in which we scan your items

Packing Tips

  • For small consignments we recommend a padded courier bag
  • For larger consignments, use a sturdy box. Use lightweight packing within the box to prevent film and photos shifting whilst in transit
  • We recommend placing your film and/or photos in containers that prevent dust contamination such as plastic containers or bags
  • For slides, the original plastic or cardboard slide boxes are ideal. A rubber band around the box will prevent the box from opening and slides being spilled during shipment. Label the box as desired
  • Negatives should be kept in their original sleeves. These can be grouped and placed in plastic bags and labels attached as desired
  • Prints can be packed flat into plastic bags and labelled
  • For larger prints (ie above 5x7) it is recommended to pack the photos between 2 cardboard sleeves to prevent the possibility of folding or bending during transit
  • Make sure you include your completed order form before sealing the courier bag or shipping box
